These herd, founded by Mr
Juan Luis Balmaseda de Ahumada y Díez in 1999, settled in two ranches located
in Benalup Casas Viejas (Cádiz) and Gaucín (Málaga), where our horses have the
best environment and facilities for the perfect development of their qualities.
Balmaseda de Ahumada is a
herd for the breeding and the selection of Spanish horses (Pure Spanish Bred),
where mares graze freely, stud horses are stabled individually and colts, according
to their age, are in stalls or in paddocks.
We have many mother mares
selected by the best morphology and the best behaviour in the course in order
to obtain horses with the best future in dressage.
Our criteria for the selection
are based in finding a specified morphology and functions in order for our
horses to compete in the sport arena, so the beauty may not be separated from
the functions.
We dedicate a huge effort
to have this aim and we count on a professional staff excited with this project
which was formed for the health and training of our horses and mares so our herd
is of the highest quality.
In order to maintain the
purity of our herd, we have shunned the kinship of our horses.
This is a young herd and we
are trying to do everything well and with clear purpose.
We are member of Asociación
de Criadores de Caballos Españoles de Pura Raza Española (The National
Association of Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders of Spain).
